What are the hardware requirements?

Pavement ME Design was designed to take advantage of and utilize multiple CPU's for running analyses. As such, the higher the performance of the client machine the faster ME Design will complete its analyses. Hardware recommendations for ME Design are 2GB RAM and 1.9GHz processor clock speed. However, it is strongly recommended to use a computer with minimum 4 GB RAM and 80 GB free hard drive space for multiple project runs such as batch, sensitivity, and thickness optimization. Screen resolution of 1024 × 768 or higher is also recommended.

What do I need to know regarding configuration management and data portability?

Pavement ME Design is a desktop based application only. ME Design does support Citrix deployments for the concurrent license. Citrix deployments require some special setup steps and you can contact the help desk for more information. The application is currently pushed out to users using the Windows Installer deployment feature (generation of .msi file).

The user security built into the application is for managing connections to a Pavement ME Design database (either MSSQL 2008R2, 2012, 2014 or Oracle 11.g, 12.c). This feature is not required for the application to run, but is useful for sharing data between users.

What are the data/space requirements?

Pavement ME Design requires minimal storage capabilities, varying with the number of users saving data. Each project in ME Design is about 5MB in size. A user with a minimum 80GB hard drive should have no issue with space related to ME Design. The application itself has a relatively small footprint of about 240MB.

MEPDG Converter Error?
The MEPDG Converter has a known issue with converting some climate files, the converter utility still produces a valid .dgpx file. To work
around this issue, simply run the converter, open the .dgpx file in ME Design and reimport your climate data.
