Climatic Data
ME Design is designed for use in both the United States and Canada and their possessions. Climatic data for these geographic areas is required by ME Design. File archives containing this data can be downloaded here.
Climatic data is provided in US Customary format and SI format.
*Climate files are now generated from the NARR and MERRA data sets.

Educational Files
Climatic Data archives contain ".hcd" files. These data files must be extracted from your chosen archive and manually placed into a specific folder on the system in which ME Design has been installed.
The specific folder location depends on (a) whether your chosen climate data is US Customary or SI and (b) whether your ME Design system is using 32-bit or 64-bit Windows.
Folder location for data files (v2.5 and above):
32-bit & 64-bit Windows (US): C:\ProgramData\AASHTOWare\ME Design\HCD\
32-bit & 64-bit Windows (SI): C:\ProgramData\AASHTOWare\ME Design\HCD_SI\
Folder location for data files when climate data is US Customary (v2.3 and previous):
32-bit Windows: C:\Program Files\AASHTOWare\ME Design\HCD\
64-bit Windows: C:\Program Files (x86)\AASHTOWare\ME Design\HCD\

File archives corresponding to specific states, provinces, and territories are also available for download. (Only standard files are available in this format --- not educational files.)

Select an area from the drop-down list or click an area on a map below to immediately download climatic data specific to that area. You may select or click on as many areas as you like. You can zoom and pan on both maps for easier selection.
